Garrett Reasoner and Peter Froman, Huguenots, immigrated from France to Germany and married there. Christian Speers, a Protestant built-in in Republic of ireland, went to London to look for passage to America, but instead was impressed into the British Army. He deserted while the ground forces was in France, and lost himself amongst the persecuted Huguenots. Garrett, Peter, and Christian remained in Germany. At to the lowest degree four sons of Garrett Reasoner immigrated to America: Christopher Reasoner (b.ca. 1690) to Dutchess County, New York; Stephen Reasoner (b.ca.1695) to Pennsylvania and Virginia; Nicholas Reasoner (b.ca.1697) and Michael Reasoner to Frederick, Maryland. Nicholas (b.ca.1697) married Mary Froman, a daughter of Peter Froman. Peter Henry Speers (ca.1713- 1782), a son of Christian, married Regina Froman, a daughter of Peter Froman. William Nutt (ca.1705-ca.1757) purchased land in 1740 in Orangish (subsequently Augusta) County, Virginia, and by 1751 moved to Anson County, North Carolina. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas and elsewhere. Vol. ane includes "the Nutt chronicals" [sic] listing notes on Nutt individuals and families in England and the United states of america between 1492 and 1855; some of those listed could be among the ancestry of William Nutt (ca.1705-ca.1757). Vol. 1 likewise includes autobiographies of Nivin Robert Nutt. Jr. (b.1929) and Brian Thomas Nutt (b.1957), one of his sons.

Descendants of John (1758-1801) and Agnes "Nancy" (McLaughlin) McLaughlin (1769-1848). John was the son of James and Mary McLaugh- lin, and was built-in in Derry, Ireland, and died in West Salem Twp., Mercer Co., Pa. Nancy was the daughter of Patrick McLaughlin. John and Nancy married in 1790. John and Nancy came to America ca. 1793. They lived first in Junetta (Juniata) in Mifflin Co., Pa., which at that time included an surface area at present comprising much of Centre, Mifflin, and Juniata Counties. Family unit moved to Forks of Yough in what became Beaver Co., Pa. in 1799 and finally in the leap of 1800, they settled in what became West Salem Twp. of Mercer Co., Pa. Nancy married (2) Peter Lossee (1750-1815) in 1802. She had three children with Peter Lossee and five with her first married man, John McLaughlin. She died near Kinsman, Trumbull Co., Ohio. Descendants live in Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Michigan, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Washington and elsewhere.

Descendant "Christopher Houseman, eldest child of Jacob Houseman and Sarah Johnson, was born April five, 1788, d. December 21, 1821. ... It is possible he may have been born nearly Winchester, Va., before his father came to Westmoreland County, Pa. ... He was married to Sarah Myers in Westmoreland County, Pa., well-nigh 1812. She was born July 24, 1791, d. August six, 1849. ... [They] moved beyond the line into Washington Canton at the time of their marriage ... "--P. xix. In 1816 the family unit moved to Westland Township, Guernsey County, Ohio. Christopher died in that location on 21 December 1821. Iii years later Sarah married Joseph Kelly or Kelley. Moses Speer I was born in 1750 in Ireland. He immigrated in ca. 1770 and settled in Alexandria, Virginia. Afterwards the Revolution he moved to Georgia. He married Hannah Lawson. Moses died in 1824. Traces some of Moses' descendants through his son Hugh Lawson
